North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) which was undergoing a major PFI construction project with a new state-of-the-art hospital being built on the Southmead Hospital site in Bristol. The building is approx. 1.2 million sq ft and comprises some 5000 rooms/spaces on the existing Southmead hospital site in north Bristol.
After carrying out a full builders clean to all areas of the hospital, a further deep clean was required to all clinical areas to ensure full decontamination, followed by a commissioning clean of all clinical and non-clinical areas closer to the hospital opening date.
Present in the hospital were a number of surfaces that required a more specialist and refined cleaning approach, including ceramic floor tiles and sensitive antibacterial paint. On top of this, CK Group were tasked with cleaning the internal glazing and high levels within the 280m long, 30m high atrium.
After each room within the hospital had been deep cleaned, CK Group carried out electronic auditing to provide evidence to the trust that the room had been cleaned to the required standard and was ready to be handed over back to the trust.
Due to the size of the project, CK Group provided an onsite manager to oversee the project at all times to ensure successful delivery of the service within a short project period of 6 weeks.
