Museum of London
The museum of London is open from 10am to 6pm every day (apart form 3 days at Christmas). The museums sites attract over 800,000 visitors each year. In addition, thanks to its prime location in London Docklands, the museum hosts many blue chip corporate evening events, after the day time visitors have left.
The museum’s main priority with their cleaning agenda was to conserve the exhibits within the museum whilst improving the visitor experience across the sites.
CK Group deployed 32 members of staff across their three sites. We assembled teams with a complete understanding of the museum, it’s requirements and of the additional care required in specific areas. We provided new Taski floor cleaning machinery and introduced microfibre technology to the museum, a low water usage system that requires no chemicals and helps to preserve listed infrastructure within the Museum.
Interfacing with the general public requires that our operatives have customer service skills and, for safety, have been enhanced DBS checked. On top of this, all staff are trained to BICSc level 1 cleaning qualifications and have been awarded with CPSS certificates, demonstraring an advanced understanding of microfibre and its applications.
During the heavy rainfall in 2014, two of the museums sites became flooded. Due to the valuable content within the museum, this issue had to be dealt with as a matter of extreme urgency. On both occasions our specialist rapid response teams were able to deal with the flood damage and restore the exhibition areas to their original condition ensuring no disruption to the museums opening.
